A mountain lion known for crossing the 405 freeway in Los Angeles was hit and killed by a car on September 7, according to National Park Service (NPS) officials.

The four-year-old animal, which was called P-61, lived close to the Sepulveda Boulevard Pass, NPS ranger Ana Beatriz said in a statement on Facebook. P-61 had a special radio-collar around his neck, which enabled NPS authorities to track his movements around the area, CNN reported.

Beatriz said the mountain lion’s final GPS point showed that he was between Bel Air Crest Road and the Sepulveda Boulevard underpass before he was fatally struck by a vehicle on Saturday.

California Highway Patrol moved P-61’s body out of traffic after the incident. City of Los Angeles Animal Control officers then retrieved P-61’s body and radio-collar and alerted California Department of Fish and Wildlife personnel and Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area researchers.

A couple of months ago, the mountain lion crossed the large, 10-lane freeway in the Sepulveda Pass vicinity in California. P-61 was reportedly the first GPS-collared mountain lion to successfully walk across the busy 405 freeway.

It’s unclear why P-61 tried to cross the 405 freeway again, but based on his GPS points, he was recently spending more time near the eastern edge of the freeway. Over the past few years, officials received remote camera photos of an uncollared male mountain lion that apparently lives nearby and a negative encounter between the two may have caused P-61 to travel again.

Now, in another first for the International Space Station, astronauts on the orbiting laboratory have tested how common concrete mixtures perform in ultra-low gravity. The experiments, while rather straightforward, are helping to build the knowledge base for future construction projects in space. Concrete might not seem like the ideal material to use for otherworldly settlements, but it could provide astronauts with many advantages. For starters, at least some of the material used in concrete mixtures — gravel, sand, and small rocks — could potentially be gathered on-site, depending on where a structure is to be built, meaning that the building materials wouldn't need to be hauled from Earth. Additionally, concrete structures are typically very sturdy and, since we're talking about other planets, the ability of concrete to provide a shield against space radiation is a huge plus. With all that in mind, scientists wanted to know how cement solidification may differ in microgravity, and the ISS was the perfect place to test it. [https:] On the ISS, experiments were conducted with various mixtures, using different additives and varying amounts of water to see how the cement reacted. Early observations of the resulting cement showed that low gravity increases the number of open holes throughout the material, and this increased porosity may ultimately affect its strength and usefulness as a building material. Going forward, the researchers will need to determine how the strength of the final material differs depending on the ingredients, and perhaps even come up with ideal recipes for cement (and eventually concrete) based on the specific gravity of the Moon, Mars, or other planets.

Early observations of the resulting cement showed that low gravity increases the number of open holes throughout the material, and this increased porosity may ultimately affect its strength and usefulness as a building material. Going forward, the researchers will need to determine how the strength of the final material differs depending on the ingredients, and perhaps even come up with ideal recipes for cement (and eventually concrete) based on the specific gravity of the Moon, Mars, or other planets.

If IT Chapter Two and Joker are elevating your fear of clowns, you have not seen anything yet: Wrinkles The Clown, a documentary about a real-life Pennywise who was paid by parents to scare kids and went viral on social media, will haunt your dreams.

Magnolia Pictures & Magnet Releasing released the documentary’s official trailer on Monday and it’s a chilling exposé of how one man, whose identity remains unknown to this day, managed to become an online celebrity overnight and creep out people across the U.S.

In late 2014, a video of a person in a clown mask sneaking up on a sleeping child appeared on YouTube. The video’s description claimed that the clown, named “Wrinkles,” lived in southwest Florida and was hired by the kid’s parents to frighten her for behaving badly. This footage kickstarted Wrinkles’ terrifying reign on the internet after it went viral on the video platform.

More footage of Wrinkles started emerging online shortly after, in addition to a phone number to hire him for “behavioral services.” The real-life Pennywise became popular on YouTube, as kids filmed themselves calling and leaving thousands of messages for him and sharing their “brave” task with millions of viewers.

The documentary aims to tackle a more challenging question though: Who exactly is Wrinkles and why did he opt out of the conventional clown job? What makes the situation even eerier is the fact that Wrinkles has remained anonymous this entire time.

Clowns are taking over box offices lately: IT Chapter Two, which highlights the return of the Losers’ Club as they confront the demon-like Pennywise, premiered in theaters on September 6, while Joker, a film following the early days of one of DC’s famous villains, will debut in theaters on October 4.

Wrinkles The Clown is also hitting theaters on October 4 and until then, we will be keeping the lights on while we sleep.
